The caterpillars of this moth eat Mugwort, Oak and Hawthorn.

Common Frog - 
A marvelous creature to have on your plot.  Most years i see two or three of these in the spring and sometimes iin the autumn.

Great Black Slug (Arion ater).
Ok so this ones orange . They also come in Black, brown, brick, grey and white.  Apparently they live for up to three years!!!  Ones around here seem to prefer decaying matter fortuneately.

Garden Snail - Cornu aspersumThis one definitely likes my veg,  at least it is easy to spot and the hens find them tasty.

This small and delicate creature was found under some scrap wood on an intentional rough patch.

Small Tortoiseshell (Aglais urticae)
A good reason to never be too enthusiastic with the nettle bashing.

 Violet Ground Beetle
Pics of the beetle and it's grub, both are exellent slugmunchers. The perennial borders around the veg plots as well as rough areas provide day time cover for this nocturnal preadator.
